Here are some suggestions for keeping things on a roll:

• keep sweets and sweet drinks to a minimum then the kids won't have heighten sugar levels
• have pop corn for the kids (messy but will stop them being hungry)
• have a wet cloth in a plastic bag, plus a towel for mop-ups, and a box of tissues
• a small pkt of baby wipes is very good to travel with as they do a multitude of tasks
• if the children are going to be watching videos keep the selection minimal so that they do not argue over so many
• take plenty of breaks
• pre-pack some sandwiches – make them the day before and refridgerate
• carry a container of dried fruit and nuts – they stave off hunger
• have a selection of games on hand
• play games like spot the color red, the number plates starting in 'B', the white number plates and the like

1. Travel in the OFF-SEASON OR  ON THE FRINGE OF THE OFF-SEASON

You can save considerably if you travel off-season. Of course, that would depend on the place you want to visit. Search the web for available options, for instance, Europe tour in the winter, Caribbean tour in the summer or fall, or Disney or other theme parks when the schools are open.

2. Traveling during the week can save you money, especially Tuesday

 Flights are less packed up on weekdays, so you can avail of some last minute discounts if you choose to travel then. Even vacation packages starting in the middle of the week are cheaper, and some business hotels also bring down their charges on weekends.

3. Do some negotiating of your own

 Try to negotiate with your agent directly for a cheaper price. A direct bargaining will also do well in case of hotels and car rental companies.

4. Book early

 If you make your reservations early, you will have the concessions that many travel agents give to the early birds. If you have already decided on your destination and date of traveling, it would be wiser if you book your position early and rest peacefully without any last minute booking hazards to bother you.
