How to ensure you end up with your travel luggage

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

DON’T LEAVE IT TO CHANGE – MAKE SURE THAT YOU AND YOUR LUGGAGE WILL END UP AT THE SAME DESTINATION ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE GOING ON A SINGLES HOLIDAY

Make sure that the airline tag on your checked luggage is for the correct destination

Your luggage has an airport identifier that matches the code of the airport to which you are going.  Check out with your ticket agent or skycap to make sure that your luggage has the correct code.

Remember to tear off the tags of your previous flights to ensure that your luggage doesn’t get misdirected. If your luggage still bears these old tags, there are chances that it will be sent to your previous destination instead. Always provide your current contact address to prevent any such misplacement.

Make sure that you keep the stub from your checked luggage

Don’t throw away the tag from your luggage once it is checked. This stump of paper will prove to be an important document if you want to claim a luggage lost by the airline.

Always claim your luggage right after landing in your destination. This way you can considerably prevent any loss or delay of your luggage. Keeping your luggage safe does not always rest in your hands, but you can at least try to curb the chances of loss.
