DEVELOP PAGES ON YOUR BLOG

It is a good idea to have an ‘About’ page on your blog where you have something written about yourself or your business.  This gives you creditability.  It is a good idea to write this as a sort of reference as if you were going for a job.  Let people know a bit about yourself, your interests and your knowledge on the subject of the blog.

If you are going to promote several things through the one blog then you can have different pages for each item.  For example, if you were going to write about health products you might have a general page, a page for exercise, a page for products and so on.

Having different pages can also mean that your blogs posts stay clearer for readers to read. If you are looking for value information for small business then you should check out these ebooks.

THE ART OF BLOGGING

IS THERE AN ART TO BLOGGING?

Well, maybe not an art, but there definitely some "do's and don't's".  So much is written for the internet and so many people make the mistake of copying other people's work.  Although this may help you get the job done, it really is not doing you any favours.

Even if you find something that you think is good content, use the information, change it and write your own version of it.  Copying and pasting information is not a good idea.

Here are a few tips to help create a better blog:"

  • glean information so that at least what you are saying is correct, but rewrite it
  • write about things that are current and are newsworthy if you can
  • don't write blogs that are too long and wordy
  • if you want to write a blog with lots of information, break it up with headings and bullet points so that people can find the information they are looking for
  • keep the content relevant to your niche
  • don't slag othe people

Are these comments helpful, I hope so.  What other tips have you got that could be helpful to others?

Operating a small business is not always easy and for a long time you seem to work really hard without much return, but slowly you do see the results.  Consistency is the key.
