IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SORT OF BUSINESS THAT YOU SET UP AT HOME, PLAN IT WELL

Even if you only plan on making a couple of hundred a week from working at home, plan your business.  Planning your homebased business will make it much more enjoyable, and you will have a clear direction of what you are doing.

 You never know, some of these small homebased businesses, have grown into quite large concerns.

THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP IS TO WRITE AS IF YOU WERE TALKING TO A FRIEND

When writing articles you need to be aware of keyword content.  If you go into Google, you can pick up a lot of information there.

When you understand what your keyword is, you need to use it in your heading, in your first paragraph, and in your last paragraph.  AND, if possible a couple of times throughout the article.

Your keyword should be the best word that describes your business.  For example, not manufacturing handbags, but, manufacturers of unique evening bags.  When we talk keywords, it can mean one word, or it can mean a grouping of words.

MORE ON MAKING BABY THINGYS – BE CREATIVE, TRY OUT DIFFERENT IDEAS AND SEE WHAT YOUR MARKET LIKES

When you are making items to sell it is important that you are making to your market.  Not only do you want make things that you like making ('cause this makes your job so much more enjoyable), but you need to be switched into the market place. 

How many times have you heard someone say "I didn't really even think they would sell, I only just did them to try them out."  So often it is the 'try out' products that are different enough to attract the buyer.

Work out who your market is.  Do they have the money to spend?  Will they buy for gifts, or just for themselves? (Gift buying opens up your market considerably – especially if it is the grandparents doing the buying.) 

 If making for baby, make cute things.  Buy fabrics that are different.  Often you can get seasonal fabrics that are a bit more expensive, but just add them to the plain colors as highlighters. You can't go wrong.

By the time baby reaches 1-2 years old all the baby gifts have been grown out of.  This is a great age to make for.

Have you heard lots of people who own websites, complain that they never have any contact off them?  I bet you have!

WORKING AT HOME IS ONE THING, BUT DOING IT HAPPILY AND BEING FINANCIALLY WORTHWHILE IS ANOTHER

LET'S LOOK AT SOME IDEAS FOR EARNING WHILE STAYING AT HOME

In the next few weeks I am going to explore a lot of ideas for making money while you are home looking after those darling children.  Children are surely, one of God's gifts.  I just love watching our grandchildren grow up and I find the whole experience of being around them one of enchantment.

At 2 and 4, they keep us fully entertained with their little stories and their antics.

I can certainly see why a mum wants to stay at home and give them the best upbringing she can.

I have a passion for helping mothers work successfully from home because I have had businesses either based at home, or very nearby for most of my working life.  I just loved being close at hand, and not having the stress of answering to bosses when you know your little ones are sick, or there is something on at the school that you want to attend.

In the coming weeks I am going to be talking about creative ideas for making money.  Now I know that is not everybody's scene, but there are just so many opportunities that I want to explore them for you.  AND, these ideas can be great for two mums to run together, perhaps one doing the hands on work and the other doing the marketing.

OK let's do it!  I am going to assume you have only read this far if you want to seriously look at these ideas.

Starting with babies.  An exercise you should undergo is to sit back and look at a baby in a pram.  How many items do you think you could make that a new baby could either wear, or that the mum could use. 

Just thinking of the top of my head: a baby bonnet, soft baby shoes, knitted socks, soft toys for the pram, pretty sundress or other summer dresses, winter clothes, a baby wrap (cuddle blanket), pram cover, shade cover, trendy bag for mum to carry bits and pieces.   The list goes on.

IF YOU ARE A WORK AT HOME MUM, OR WANT TO BE, THIS COULD WORK FOR YOU

Working at home is fabulous when you have young children, and it is even better if you have a group, or even two of you that can work as a partnership.   By delegating your work responsibilities, you can each take turns looking after the children and this will save you a lot of money in baby sitting.

 The answer to any partnership is to have clear responsibilities, keep the lines of communication open, and be prepared to do the same amount of work.  The more that you have in common in your goals, workwise and financially, the more successful you will be.

Like a marriage, it is often a case of 'opposites attract', and this can be a really good base for a sound business work at home relationship.

LOOKING FOR SIGNS DEPRESSION IN TEENAGERS
